about the artist

Laura Sjoquist is an illustrator, photographer, painter and naturalist living in Northern Illinois.

​

Inspired by the natural surrounding of prairies, forests and wetlands, Laura creates art about nature and the local environment.  

​

Laura's background includes a degree in Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota, a Master's Degree in Environmental Education and training in the Illinois Master Naturalist Program.  In addition to making art, Laura works for a non profit nature center.
